Bright Lips – Wearing the spring and summer trend
Sporting a super pigmented bright lip is one of the hottest trends for Spring and Summer – for good reason! It’s a universally flattering look with just one rule: make sure your bright lip colour takes centre stage. There is something quite classic yet trendy about keeping the bold, bright lip your focus and the rest of your makeup subtle. Make your lip look an attention grabber (in the right way) with these simple steps.
Smooth the canvas
Your lips are an extension of your skin on your face so you need to exfoliate them in the same way to remove any dry skin. Use finely granulated lip scrub (or caster sugar mixed with coconut oil) and rub it around your pouted lips in a circular motion. Then, apply an SPF lip moisturising treatment for conditioning.
Lock in the look
Firstly apply a lip liner around the outer edge of your lips then colour them in with your pencil. When applying you colour, put some of the lip stick onto your ring finger and press it into your lips. This will keep the lip stick in place for the long haul.

For extra assurance, split a tissue into single sheets and place over your lips. Dust with powder like MAC’s Select Sheer Loose powder in translucent over your lipstick and then reapply the colour. The layering affect will keep your bright lips going strong for a couple of extra hours.
Embrace au-naturel eyes
Remember, your bold lips are the focal point of your look so keep the rest of your makeup minimal. Try nudes, golds and peach colours on your eyes and a few sweeps of mascara to complete the look.
